1999 Isuzu Trooper project for sale. Runs and drives-but it is NOT a daily driver. This truck needs work. These are getting scare now and the ones for sale are expensive. Bought it in 2007 with 74k miles on the clock. I was going to keep this, fix the oil consumption problem, front suspension bushings and swap in the Asin 5-speed manual tranny but now it has an intermittent high idle problem. I have replaced both the throttle position sensor and the idle air valve, along with the throttle position sensor connector. Not sure what the problem is but I just don't have the time. With the high idle problem it is not a daily driver anymore. A good project truck for those so inclined.Comes with two sets of tires and wheels. Complete set of factory service manuals. Has Uhaul tow package. Has a Viper alarm system. Has a Street Guardian front and rear dashcam. Clarion stereo/Pioneer speakers. Has locking hubs in front. Has a Surco expedition roof rack mounted to the Isuzu factory mount points.No engine codes, no trans codes. The TOD system flashes a check light. Borg-warner TOD transfer case in/out speed sensors are bad and unobtainable. I have parts and instructions(included) to bypass the TOD control and lock the t-case at a 50/50 split, just never installed it. The mod applies straight 12 VDC to the transfer case electromagnet to lock it in 4WD.The 6EV1 engine runs well but has the Isuzu oil consumption issue. If you don't watch the oil level like a hawk you will blow it up. Just like some of the Chevy LS engines, the pistons need additional oil wiper ring groove drainback holes drilled, two per side to fix it. Once that is done--- no more oil consumption worries.Auto trans was rebuilt 2019 by A1 United at 136420 miles with a Transtar enhanced durability kit with all the Sonnax mods. Had an external fluid cooler added. Have changed fluid twice since then.Rear diff seal leaks, have a seal for it included.The front suspension control arm bushings are bad. Parts are cheap at Rockauto. It's about four hours per side to do the work. Bilstien shocks all the way around.Rear door has a ding on the bottom. Clear coat is going bad on the front hood and quarter panels. Bits of rubber and trim are failing and or missing, it is 27 years old. It has been in a couple of fender benders.I replaced the brake rotors with EBC rotors, run EBC brake pads. ABS light is on.One of the front CV joint boots is torn.Replaced the fuel pump, tank is clean.Replaced injectors and seals.Christian Brothers did some work on it--twice.12/05/2022 151524 miles. Replace Mass air flow sensor, throttle body gasket, intake manifold gasket, inner and outer tie rod ends.2/14/2023 152837 miles. Installed a timing belt/water pump kit, camshaft seals, crankshaft seal, valve cover gasket setThey destroyed the radiator and had to put a new one in.$2500 Cash only. Sold as is where is.
