Description
Selling my 2002 Toyota Tundra SR5 4WD outfitted with a brake controller for towing(newly installed within the last year), all for the low price of $2000 OBO. As you can see, it has a few spots that are rusting but it's not too bad on the exterior, and I got the interior all shined up so this ride is looking great! It has a few known issues that could be fixed relatively easily by the right person, and could be either flipped for a decent profit and/driven for another few hundred thousand miles. Mainly the muffler is rusted out and the catalytic converter got gunked up by a bad tank of gas last winter. The bad tank of gas lead to the muffler falling apart, which you can see in the picture. I bought a new catalytic converter and muffler ($300 total, screenshots included), but I didn't get around to installing them myself. After the muffler fell apart, I've just used 91 gas to fuel the truck and it operates quiet enough. The muffler and catalytic converter should be replaced with the new parts and additional O2 sensors (not included). The fuel tank should probably be cleaned out or replaced too because there may be some gunk left in the bottom of it. Running Cataclean and 91 gas through the tank can only do so much to clean out the system. The truck still runs and drives fine but it's performance has diminished since before the bad tank of gas. I'd do all the maintenance myself but I've run out of money for it and I have a commuter car for work so I don't need the truck anymore.Besides the muffler/converter, the other known issue is an oil gasket leak but I'm told it doesn't drain oil too fast and there are STOPLEAK chemicals that can help. I've replaced the alternator within the last three years, and the battery is almost brand new. The rotors and struts have all been replaced in the last two years, but the brake pads may be due for inspection. The main frame of the truck has little rust and will likely hold up for many more years. The A/C belt snapped a few years back and I never got around to installing a new one, but I will include a new belt with the truck. The truck bed is in great shape, and has a roll-up cover. The handle to open the truck bed broke so I took it off completely and just use the levers to open the door manually. A new handle wouldn't cost much to install but I don't have one to include. I can include a tow hitch receiver if requested.Full disclosure, I let the registration expire in January and I took the truck off my insurance last fall. This complicates the buying process since legally the buyer will need to either obtain a "trip permit" from the DMV to drive the truck home, or get the truck towed. Otherwise you may run the risk of being pulled over and ticketed with expired tabs. This is a big reason why I'm listing the truck for less than what I could probably get if it were up-to-date on it's tabs.Price is negotiable but must be a fair offer.
