Description

We are offering our well-loved Camper Van up for sale. This is a Mercedes-built 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 with extended roof and length, converted to a camper by a professional builder. This camper is loaded with thoughful details, tons of storage, big sleeping area, and plenty of extras included. This vehicle's model year, 2006, was built in pieces by Mercedes Benz in Germany, then shipped over to be assembled by Dodge in the US. Most importantly this means that this van's engine is the famous in-line, 5-cylinder, Mercedes Turbo-Diesel. With 20 years of service records these engines have been dubbed the "million-milers" for their supreme longevity and reliability. If you were to list all the items which compose this van, the last one I would ever worry about is the engine! As for size, it's got more headroom and length than most of any newer camper vans out there, while driving and handling quite easily. We love it for the queen+ size bed, the crazy amount of storage space, and the wonderful head room.We purchased this 3 years ago from the person who converted it from a work van to a camper van. He worked for the company who owned the work truck (which was a construction/building company). He subsequently did all the conversion work as a professional builder, which includes the exterior metal-frame roof rack, ladder, door step-ups, side paddle-board rack, and rear spare tire rack.Other exterior additions include light cubes + bar, raised suspension for off-road, off-road tires, solar panel, a roof vent fan, an electrical hook-up outlet, a rear backup camera, and an amazing canopy system (with zip-on exterior room, complete with floor).Interior buildouts include hand-painted wood ceiling/walls panels (sunset woods-cape), extra-long "kitchen" counter + drawers + pump-sink, storage shelving throughout, battery/electrical compartment with seat, adjustable height bed platform, heating unit connected to diesel, interior lighting throughout on both battery and solar, speaker system, swivel passenger chair, luggage compartments, and more!Recent updates we have done include: roof vent fan (install by professional company), upgraded dual-zone fridge, upgraded batteries heat-regulating lithium ion for solar, expanded solar electrical coverage, extended wii-boost antennae, interior LED strip lighting, and foam mattress topper.Mechanically we have taken very great care of this vehicle. Since purchased we have replaced / repaired / flushed / etc. the following: New shocks and struts, new glow plugs, all fluid changes, rebuild of A/C system, new ignition switch, new radiator cap, new drive belt, new air temperature sensor, new turbo, new windshield wiper arms, and a transmission inspection. All work done with full safety inspections included. Annual maintenance performed and recorded on the Carfax report, through Arthur's Automotive and Pro Auto % Diesel. When this van needed something done, we have done it.The registration is good through 2026. The title is clean. Now to the "extras" that come with this vehicle: A zip-on exterior canopy room attachment, exterior paddle-board attachment hooks, a large solar shower tube, an extended Wii-boost antennae, a recently bought ICECO dual-zone fridge unit, a Garmin GPS unit, a Zero Breeze portable A/C unit, an interior bunk bed system (to stack a single bed or two single beds instead of the platform bed), and a tool box with lots of extras for vehicle + equipment maintenance.Since we have purchased it we have taken one long road trip down to the San Francisco area and back up the 101, a handful of trips to Bend, OR, a handful of Oregon coast trips, a handful of Seattle trips, and a handful of Hood River trips. We are creature-comfort campers who have kept it in official campgrounds each time (or a driveway) and have taken it easy on the van. This van has some cosmetic issues on the outside, as any 2006 camper van would, but otherwise it's mechanical systems and camper capabilities have many more years of reliable, comfortable, adaptable, and enjoyable life left for exploration. For us, it was the perfect entry-level camper van build-out we wanted to make sure that the van life was the life for us (and it's been so good, now we are ready for something even larger). Please see my youtube videos for walkthroughs and further details:Ext Walkthrough: https://youtu.be/ZosWlCCZoikInt.
